Introduction

Seeking experienced HV Commissioning Electricians for mining decarbonisation projects. Responsible for HV testing, commissioning, fault-finding, energisation, and switching activities across critical infrastructure projects within a safety-focused team environment.

What are you going to do 

  • Perform commissioning, testing, and energisation of HV systems including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and control systems
  • Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and secondary injection testing
  • Test and fault-find LV systems
  • Commission control systems and carry out instrument calibration
  • Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and commissioning procedures
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and non-conformances
  • Prepare and execute HV switching activities and switching programs
  • Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate test records
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, package managers, and operations personnel
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety requirements, project specifications, and relevant Australian Standards

Essential skills and knowledge

  • WA Electrical Licence (or equivalent)
  • HV Switching Operator Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in HV installation and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of protection and control systems
  • Experience with HV/LV testing, fault-finding, and energisation
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
  • Current CPR/LVR and White Card
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards
  • Experience within mining, renewable energy, or HV infrastructure projects (desirable)
  • Exposure to HV switching, commissioning documentation, or permitting systems (desirable)
  • Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems including SEL, Schneider, or Siemens (desirable)
  • Knowledge of WA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations and HV legislation (desirable)
