What are you going to do 

This role will report to the Remediation Team Lead and will be based in Perth.

  • Responsible for detailed design and execution of remediation, rehabilitation, and waste management components for Barrow Island oil field decommissioning program
  • Support the Barrow Island Remediation & Restoration Team Lead in completing the annual planned and budgeted work program in accordance with the Barrow Island Decommissioning Strategy and the Western Australian Contaminated Sites Act 2003. This is development, coordination and delivery of contaminated site assessment and remediation projects for the Barrow Island Decommissioning Program.
  • Supports implementation and direction of strategic contaminated site management scopes for Barrow Island that bring in the most current and best practice ecological risk assessment and remediation technologies, linking in future land reinstatement and rehabilitation requirements for the net environmental benefit of the significant Barrow Island ecological footprint.
  • Provide contaminated site assessment and waste management support as directed to infrastructure decommissioning and plug & abandonment activities undertaken as part of the Barrow Island Decommissioning Program.
  • Applies technical subject matter expertise, combined with support from internal resources such as CTC and CEMREC, to implement improved technologies and research to achieve greater program efficiencies.
  • Supports overarching scope development, budget planning and annual update of the remediation and rehabilitation program design components of BWIJV Decommissioning Strategy.
  • Inputs into Environment databases as required
  • Performs or directs work as required under the direction of the Barrow Island Remediation & Restoration Team Lead.
  • Manage assigned projects to deliver quality outcomes, safely, within appropriate timeframe and budget constraints, which includes working over multiple complex projects
  • Supervision and management of contractors to deliver work scopes, from planning, pre-mobilisation safety reviews, field execution, desktop activities and reporting, in the timeframes agreed.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Experience with contamination management associated with onshore decommissioning of oil and gas facilities is required.
  • First-hand knowledge and experience in contaminated sites assessment, ecological risk assessment and remediation.
  • Onshore decommissioning requirements
  • Strong technical and project management skills and demonstrated communications skills to supportexcellent relations with the regulator and other stakeholders
  • Experience in managing 3rd Party Engineering teams developing project deliverables
