On behalf of our client, a global Oil & Gas operator, Brunel are currentky seeking for an HSE Specialist in Decommissioning Approvals.

  • Long term contract with a global operator
  • Work on decommissioning environmental plans and approvals for Barrow Island
  • Perth CBD based with flexible working options

What are you going to do 

This role will support the development and revisions of decommissioning Environment Plans and ensure Decommissioning approvals are in line with programs such as well P&A, onshore decommissioning, environmental remediation and rehabilitation, logistics support, comply with approvals and regulatory compliance.

  • This role will report to the Decommissioning Program Manager and will be based in Perth.
  • Execute Approvals and Consents Plan to meet Barrow Island decommissioning project execution schedule
  • Develop approvals advice for D&R Plan discussions with regulator
  • Support the development and revisions of asset retirement Environment Plan
  • Coordinate the submission of works approvals (where required)
  • Coordinate submission of secondary approvals
  • Support execution team to review of contractors Safety Management Plans and support CHESM Compliance
  • Ensure all Regulatory compliance & Reporting milestones against EP’s etc are met
  • Support HAZID coordination as it relates to approvals and regulatory requirements
  • Meet the requirement of internal and external Compliance Assurance

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Strong leadership, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be flexible andadaptable to changing business priorities
  • Experience with decommissioning and remediation of oil and gas facilities is required. The role requires firsthand knowledge and experience of:
  • Well P&A (onshore) approvals
  • Onshore decommissioning requirements
  • Experience in the implementation of assurance requirements
  • Environmental and Safety approvals and risk assessment
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience related to decommissioning, specifically with externalregulators.
