Introduction

What are you going to do 

We are partnering with our client, a respected organization in the Oil & Gas sector, to appoint a dedicated HSE Officer to strengthen their safety culture on site. As part of our client's team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, you will play a central role in safeguarding people, assets, and the environment through robust health, safety, and environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
  • Prepare and review risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Monitor compliance with PPE and safe working procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
  • Prepare HSE reports, inspection reports, and corrective-action records.
  • Monitor permit-to-work systems and high-risk activities.
  • Support emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and first-aid arrangements.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and environmental controls.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, workers, contractors, and management regarding safety issues.
  • Follow applicable UAE HSE legislation, client requirements, and company procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external HSE audits.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Diploma/Bachelor's in Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) - highly preferred.
  • IOSH Managing Safely - useful, particularly for supervisors and safety personnel.
