Electrical Estimator

Brisbane

Responsible for providing accurate, timely and efficient estimating services that meet the needs of the business and our customers and for pursuing opportunities for further work with clients and builders. This involves all aspects of pricing delivery & pricing strategy, preparation, cost estimating, and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive estimates and offers.

Responsibilities:

* Review tender documents and coordinate tender approval processes, including active participation in relevant internal approval meetings

* Read and understand the request for tender and contract to understand the cost drivers and the basis of estimate

* Drive information gathering utilising budgets, historical data, past estimates, and the business unit subject matter experts to build up cost estimates

* Consult with the business unit Commercial Team on alternative pricing strategies and tendering strategies to drive higher success rates within the business

* Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, subcontractors and other project-related cost inputs

* Maintaining current market knowledge and relationships with industry contacts - including suppliers, consultants and subcontractors - to inform and verify project estimates, risk mitigation, price fluctuations and trends across the market * Assisting with bid preparation and proposals, ensuring accurate data is presented to clients and project teams

* Actively participate in Risk and Opportunity identification and workshops, lead discussions regarding risk and opportunities through estimating or quoting processes

* Participate in hand-over of successful tenders to the Operations and Delivery teams by preparing basis of estimates, cost summaries, and project budgets

* Any other task as lawfully directed

Experience and Qualifications:

* Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications

* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the roads, rail, utilities, industrial or other heavy infrastructure industry

* Proficiency in estimating software and tools

* An ability to work with a range of different stakeholders, ensuring strong collaboration and communication throughout the delivery of the projects

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Be a confident communicator with clients and stakeholders with strong interpersonal skills

* Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities
