Introduction

Lead electrical commissioning across decarb infrastructure projects, overseeing HV/LV systems, testing, and safe energisation. This role is responsible for coordinating teams, managing commissioning activities, and ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operational handover, delivering projects safely, efficiently, and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.

What are you going to do 

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Superintendent to lead commissioning activities across decarb infrastructure projects. This role will drive safe energisation and ensure a seamless transition to operations.

  • Lead and coordinate all electrical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to energisation and handover
  • Plan and manage commissioning schedules, resources, and contractor/vendor interfaces
  • Oversee HV/LV testing, switching, isolation, and energisation activities
  • Ensure all works are executed in line with safety standards, permits, and isolation requirements
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation including ITRs, CVCs, RFIs, and test procedures
  • Develop and review commissioning test procedures and work packs
  • Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning workflows, ensuring alignment across all phases
  • Manage systemisation, start-up sequences, and commissioning pathways
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks during commissioning and energisation
  • Lead safe energisation activities and high-risk electrical works
  • Coordinate closely with construction, operations, and engineering teams
  • Manage punch lists, defect identification, and close-out activities
  • Support operational readiness, asset handover, and stakeholder sign-off
  • Provide accurate reporting on commissioning progress, risks, and resource requirements

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Electrical Trade Qualification or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Current WA Electrical Licence and High Voltage Switching certification
  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning on major projects, ideally in mining, infrastructure, or energy sectors
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, protection, control systems, and commissioning processes
  • Ability to interpret and approve drawings, procedures, and switching plans
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with strong knowledge of permits, isolations, and high-risk activities
  • Experience coordinating teams, contractors, and vendors in a FIFO or remote environment
  • Previous experience as a Commissioning Superintendent or in a similar leadership role (highly regarded)
  • Exposure to substations, power distribution, or decarbonisation/renewable projects (advantageous)
  • Valid Driver's Licence and ability to pass FIFO medical and D&A
