We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Specialist (Procurement Advisor) to support procurement operations at a refinery site in Sweeny, TX. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to drive sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and ensure contract compliance.

This position is ideal for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver strategic value.

Candidates must be local to the Sweeny, TX area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with site stakeholders to support day-to-day procurement activities, including services sourcing and supplier management

  • Lead and support sourcing events, including bid development, evaluation, and supplier selection

  • Manage assigned contracts, including negotiating terms, renewals, and amendments

  • Act as a liaison between site stakeholders and centralized procurement teams to ensure alignment and efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards

  • Identify opportunities to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate risk

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, contracting, or supply chain

  • Experience supporting contract negotiations and supplier management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, GEP, or similar platforms

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Experience supporting procurement within a refinery, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment

  • Familiarity with services-based procurement and contractor/vendor management

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday during standard business hours

  • Must comply with site safety requirements and PPE standards

  • Must be able to pass required background and drug screening

  • Site-specific safety training may be required prior to starting
