  • The primary objective of this role is to ensure these critical operations are performed in strict accordance with established procedures, industry standards, and the project plan, thereby guaranteeing safe and effective project completion.
  • The Commissioning Lead (Process) position requires a robust blend of technical expertise and organizational acumen, complemented by strong communication and problem-solving skills.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure system completion and commissioning activities meet process systems project and handover requirements.
  • Witness contractors' scope of work and validate test and check sheets, with focus on process systems and critical process parameters, in accordance with project requirements.
  • Participate in walkdowns and identify/resolve process related technical issues to support smooth project progression.
  • Oversee site execution of commissioning activities for process systems and ensure safe and compliant completion of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and mechanical completion tasks.
  • Review contractor's commissioning and operational procedures, with emphasis on process operability, safety and start up philosophy, and confirm system readiness for smooth handover to permanent operations.
  • Support and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)/ Site Acceptance Tests (SAT's) to ensure equipment functionality is as per design, including verification of process performance and control logic, and record findings in the project database.
  • Monitor contractor's preservation activities and validate compliance with project requirements, ensuring process systems integrity and readiness for commissioning/ start up.
  • Capture and share system completion and commissioning lessons learned and contribute to the project lessons-learned register.
  • Approve inspection and test records (ITRs) and confirm accurate updating in SCDB.
  • Ensure red-line markups are completed on drawings and documents and support accurate as-built documentation.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas projects in commissioning with 3 years in a PMT or Supervisory role in Oil & Gas large scale projects, with Deep Understanding of Process Systems Commissioning activities, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong knowledge and safety leadership principles, safe work practices, and HSE compliance in Commissioning activities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and coordination solving skills.
  • Strong decision making and prioritization skills under pressure technical, analytical, and interface skills.
  • Deep Understanding of Process Systems Commissioning activities such as Leak Testing, Piping system Dry out, Rotating Equipment tests, Functional tests and HVAC.
  • Hands on Experience in Systemization and working in SIMOPS with Construction and Operations for extended periods.
  • Extensive experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup process systems on large scale projects with focus on achieving at yard and avoid offshore rework.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with system completion management systems (Hexagon and/or WinPCs is a plus).
