Introduction

Brunel has partnered with a major Australian resources business on a contract opportunity for a Test Engineer to join an established decarbonisation infrastructure team. This role suits an engineer with a background in electrical, controls or mechatronic engineering who enjoys hands-on test execution on complex systems, backed by solid test planning, documentation and reporting skills.

What are you going to do 

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Decarb Commissioning team in the Requirements and Validation group. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative, high-impact projects that support and accelerate the advancement of decarbonisation technologies.

  • Development of requirements and V&V plans for major Decarb projects, including the MW Charger, power distribution assets, and new products.
  • Package Management working with vendors for automation, robotics, and other specialized fields.
  • Integration of the work packs under your responsibility with other system elements across Decarb and the wider business.
  • Test execution at development facility.
  • Occasional travel to site to conduct tests campaigns or rectify issues on site.
  • Development of technical documents to support the successful delivery and integration of Decarb assets.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical, Controls, Software or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Background delivering engineering projects within infrastructure, industrial, mining or energy environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA and document management systems
  • Programming experience in Python or Simulink highly regarded
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting platforms an advantage
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across engineering, project and external groups
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills, able to present status and risk to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment
