Introduction

Responsible for the effective implementation of the COMPANY’s Project Quality Plan as pertains to all activities in the Shipyard; oversees the effective development and implementation of the Shipyard-generated Project Quality Plan for each Vessel being built at the Shipyard.
Serves as COMPANY’s primary interface with the Shipyard and all Owner/Operators at the Shipyard on quality matters related to production of the Vessels.
Reports to Site Manager.
Internal: Frequent interaction with COMPANY site teams in other Shipyards (particularly Site Team Quality Leads)
External: Frequent interaction with Vessel Owner/Operators’ site teams at the Shipyard. Controlled interaction with Shipyard management and staff (in accordance with provisions in the charterparties and shipbuilding contracts), as well as with Shipyard’s vendors (equipment suppliers for the Vessels)

What are you going to do

Monitor Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) activities (hold point inspections, patrolling inspections, testing activities, etc.) of Vessel Owner/Operators and Shipyard to ensure that the shipyard QA/QC program is fully functional in accordance with Ship building Contract requirements as set out in the Coordination Procedures.
Lead all aspects of the COMPANY’s quality tracking procedures at the Shipyard. Provide support to the Site Manager and other site team members for QA/QC performance tracking and trend analysis across all Shipyard production processes and disciplines.
Oversee implementation of COMPANY’s Project Quality Plan at the Shipyard and ensure Continual improvement of Shipyard production quality through capture and implementation of lessons learned.
Continually assesses Shipyard quality performance (both leading and lagging indicators) and provide input to the Shipyard’s Quality Plans and procedures. Work with owner/ Operators to implement audit and review programs to assess the effectiveness of the Shipyard’s Project Quality Plans.
Oversee Shipyard’s and Owner/Operators’ vendor surveillance programs, ensuring products from external suppliers (including block manufacturers) meet the quality requirements of the charterparties and shipbuilding contracts.
Support COMPANY’s project hand-over activities (transfer of Vessels to operations) and participate in close-out of project deliverables.

Certified attendance at GTT training course for design and installation of Mk III and NO 96 cargo containment systems
BSc in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or similar
Level II NDT certification in accordance with ISO 9712, EN 473, or equivalent
Certification as an ISO 9001 inspector
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a quality assurance role directly associated with either shipbuilding or with oil & gas industry construction projects, as either a shipyard employee or shipyard client.
Experience as an owner’s or charterer’s representative in any or the (4) Shipyards, or as an employee in the production or quality assurance department in any of the (4) Shipyards
Experience as an owner’s or charterer’s representative on an LNGC, FSRU, or FLNG project
Experience sailing on oceangoing vessels.
Excellent written and spoken English skills, strong skills in report writing and presentations.
Must be capable of positive decision-making & demonstrating a high level of judgement & responsibility.
Good communication, planning and organizational skills.
Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and PC Skills
