Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Manager Sioux Falls, SD

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain standard manufacturing processes, including routings, standard hours, and process flow
  • Drive capacity planning, line balancing, and throughput improvement aligned with demand
  • Lead daily issue resolution on the production floor with clear ownership and escalation
  • Eliminate bottlenecks and improve labor efficiency, schedule adherence, and overall execution
  • Own and enforce the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements
  • Drive built‑in quality with a focus on defect prevention rather than inspection
  • Lead corrective action processes, including root cause analysis, containment, and verified closure
  • Reduce cost of quality, including scrap, rework, warranty, and customer issues
  • Lead, develop, and mentor manufacturing engineering and quality teams
  • Maintain strong floor presence and partner closely with operations leadership
  • Ensure alignment between engineering, production, supply chain, and commercial teams
  • Support S&OP through capacity, capability, and execution readiness

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
  • 2+ years of quality engineering or quality systems experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Welding, or a related field
  • Experience in metal fabrication and mechanical equipment manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of welding standards, quality systems, BOMs, routings, and standard cost environments
  • Lean or continuous improvement certification (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • High level of accountability, structure, and operational discipline

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, blueprints, welding standards (AWS/CWB), and quality control systems.
  • Experience with BOMs, routings, and standard cost environments.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D design software.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
