Introduction

As the PSM Manager, you will be responsible for process safety effort across the facility. You will interface with the appropriate Health and Safety and manufacturing resources to resolve implement or delegate process safety requirements. Other duties include:

What are you going to do 

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives, and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values
  • Facilitating of Process Hazard Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis studies
  • Owning and auditing various existing process safety programs such as Management of Change (MOC) program site wide.
  • Driving process safety through identification of corrective actions and managing the improvement through closure.
  • Setting and tracking goals and measures for PSM program improvement.
  • Leads and directs the development and implementation of process safety standards and management systems assuring the foundation for regulatory compliance, management of risk, training/competency development, program consistency and continuous performance improvement. Coordinating process safety training at the site.
  • Assisting with implementation of site safety and health programs.
  • Facilitating site safety incident investigation teams.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering degree required.
  • Experience or education in the chemical industry required.
  • 5+ years demonstrated safety skills in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with OSHA laws compliance and requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of the Quality Assurance program and safety processes through previous assignments.
  • Ability to provide direction and coaching to others in an effective leadership manner and foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of basic investigative techniques for root cause analysis.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
