Contracts Administrator

Introduction

Brunel is currently seeking a Contracts Administrator - Projects to support our client on a contract basis. This role will be responsible for supporting the administration of contracts related to assigned capital projects, from early-stage planning through execution and completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and project teams to ensure contract activities are managed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with business needs. This position will initially be based in an engineering office environment, with potential mobilization to site offices as required. Some work-from-home flexibility may also be available. The role reports to the Manager of Contracts and will support post-award contract administration activities as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and review a variety of contract requests and determine the most appropriate sourcing strategy based on the scope of work and business requirements.
  • Support the development and administration of contractual agreements to ensure operations and project activities are supported in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
  • Review supplier bid proposals and provide recommendations or support contract execution based on project needs.
  • Maintain competitive pricing through bid events, price negotiations, cost modelling, and other sourcing strategies.
  • Identify supplier performance concerns and work with internal and external stakeholders to support resolution.
  • Assist with post-award contract administration for assigned contract matters.
  • Collaborate with project managers, functional leaders, site representatives, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Support contract-related decision making with moderate supervision, including setting priorities and timelines that may impact a department, project, or work group.
  • Work on complex contract matters and support the implementation of solutions through strategy, coordination, and delegation where required.
  • Travel to site may be required based on project and business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least five years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracts management principles and practices.
  • Experience supporting contract administration within capital projects or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with large-scale industrial facilities is considered an asset.
  • Previous EPCM experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working as part of an integrated team with clients, contractors, and project partners is preferred.
