The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Estimation to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will oversee and lead a team of four estimators, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of project cost estimations for large-scale capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, particularly in the Energy sector. This role is crucial in supporting our growth and operational excellence, directly reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage the estimation team, ensuring precise and timely cost estimations for projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain estimation procedures and guidelines to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.
  • Provide expertise in $5 billion CAPEX projects, ensuring all estimations align with the company's financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure all estimations are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary data for accurate project cost estimations.
  • Utilize and implement various software tools to streamline and improve the estimation process.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on estimation data and trends.

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading estimation teams, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior estimation role.
  • Extensive experience in handling $5 billion CAPEX projects.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the Energy sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in new build projects.
  • Proficiency in using and implementing various estimation software.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
