Brunel has partnered with a leading resources company on a contract opportunity for a UX Designer.

This role would suit someone with solid hands-on experience translating user research and requirements into detailed UI designs. You'll need a strong understanding of UI best practices and experience working within or contributing to a design system. Exposure to frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, or React is also well reagrded.

What are you going to do 

Reporting to the UX Lead, UX Designers work closely with Product Owners as well as users, SMEs and the delivery team to develop user experience design strategies and user interface designs for Autonomy products. The UX Designer is expected to facilitate discussions and workshops and engage with users to ensure user experience concerns and requirements are understood.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with Product, SMEs, BAs and other users and stakeholders to understand business and user requirements and translate them into user experience design strategies and user interface designs.
  • Ensuring designs are aligned to business requirements and acceptance criteria and working with delivery squads to refine during implementation.
  • Development and maintenance of designs systems and component libraries for supporting the FMS and other interfaces.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Workshop facilitation: competent running requirements gathering workshops and defining user flows to support UI design
  • UI design: translating user requirements and journey flows into detailed UI designs, good understanding of UI best practices, designing within and contributing to design systems, demonstrating prototypes and capturing feedback
  • User research: conducting user testing and interviews, capturing and understanding user experience pain points
  • Communication: excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams, able to represent user needs and advise on the impact of design decisions
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Frontend knowledge advantageous (CSS/HTML, basic React)
