Our client is seeking a Superintendent of Procurement to lead all strategic and operational procurement activities across their site

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee all procurement activities, including purchasing, contract management, logistics, and inventory coordination.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aimed at cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply reliability.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, service levels, and contract conditions with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, corporate governance, and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service partners.
  • Analyze departmental requirements and coordinate purchasing to align with operational and production plans.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on procurement performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead, mentor, and support the procurement team, promoting professional development and high performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes and support ERP system enhancements (SAP or equivalent).
  • Prepare and manage the procurement department's annual budget.
  • Superviser toutes les activités d'approvisionnement, incluant les achats, la gestion des contrats, la logistique et la coordination des inventaires.
  • Développer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies d'approvisionnement visant la réduction des coûts, l'amélioration de la qualité et la fiabilité de l'approvisionnement.
  • Négocier les prix, les conditions de livraison, les niveaux de service et les termes contractuels avec les fournisseurs.
  • Assurer la conformité aux politiques internes d'approvisionnement, aux normes de gouvernance corporative et aux exigences réglementaires et de sécurité.
  • Établir, gérer et maintenir des relations solides avec les fournisseurs et partenaires de services clés.
  • Analyser les besoins des départements et coordonner les achats en fonction des plans opérationnels et de production.
  • Développer, suivre et présenter les indicateurs de performance (KPI) liés à l'approvisionnement.
  • Diriger, encadrer et soutenir l'équipe d'approvisionnement en favorisant le développement professionnel et la haute performance.
  • Favoriser l'amélioration continue des processus d'approvisionnement et soutenir l'optimisation des systèmes ERP (SAP ou équivalent).
  • Préparer et gérer le budget annuel du département d'approvisionnement.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Degree in Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in an industrial, resource‑based, or mining environment considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, logistics, and inventory management best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP systems; SAP is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Diplôme en administration, gestion des opérations, logistique, chaîne d'approvisionnement ou domaine connexe.
  • 8 à 10 ans d'expérience en approvisionnement, dont au moins 3 ans dans un rôle de supervision.
  • Expérience dans un environnement industriel, de ressources naturelles ou minier (atout).
  • Solide connaissance des processus d'achat, de la logistique et des meilleures pratiques en gestion des inventaires.
  • Maîtrise de Microsoft Office et expérience avec les systèmes ERP; SAP est un atout.
  • Excellentes compétences en négociation et en gestion de contrats.
  • Le bilinguisme (français/anglais) est considéré comme un atout.
