Introduction

Brunel is currently recruiting for an experienced WA Service Manager to lead a technical service team across water treatment operations.

The role combines field service leadership, client relationship management, team development, operational planning and commercial performance. You will be responsible for ensuring service works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while also supporting customer retention, service growth and team performance.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead, support and develop a team of 7 Service Technicians across WA.
  • Coordinate service delivery with support from in-office Service Coordinators.
  • Oversee routine and corrective maintenance activities across water treatment assets.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with HSEQ requirements.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture, including toolbox meetings, incident reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across existing and prospective customers.
  • Support business growth through service quality, customer engagement and commercial awareness.
  • Oversee service documentation, plant history, stock requirements and spare parts recommendations.
  • Prepare or support quotes for spare parts, chemicals, service work and upgrades.
  • Ensure team performance meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support individual development plans.
  • Improve service procedures, site processes and operational standards.
  • Ensure service assets, vehicles, tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
  • Contribute to business planning, monthly reporting and service performance outcomes.

Essential skills and knowledge

You will be a practical, technically capable service leader with proven experience managing field service or maintenance teams. You will be comfortable leading technicians, managing client expectations, coordinating service priorities and maintaining high standards across safety, quality and response times.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Relevant technical qualification.
  • Strong experience in a field service, maintenance or technical service environment.
  • Experience leading, coordinating or supervising service technicians.
  • Strong HSEQ focus and understanding of safety management systems.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in a responsive, professional and commercially aware manner.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing service demands.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving capability.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Exposure to budget preparation, reporting or divisional performance would be advantageous.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be well regarded.

  • Salary up to $150k + super
  • Fully maintained vehicle
  • Phone, iPad and laptop provided
  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour days
  • Some travel required across WA
  • Time in lieu for hours worked above 10 hours per day
  • Time in lieu for all weekend hours worked
  • Travel uplifts applicable after 3 nights away
  • In-office service coordination support
  • Stable leadership role managing an established team of 7 technicians
