What are you going to do 

  • Assume responsibility and represent the design department for all aspects related to Mechanical engineering.
  • Design Engineer & Technical Reviewer (Internal and external stakeholder documents)
  • Ensure Quality and optimized design.
  • Ensure quality and timely review the design / drawings / document and feedback to consultant.
  • Ensure the constructability & Operational friendly design.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and requirements.
  • Ensure quality and timely review the design I drawings I document and feedback to consultant.
  • Effective participation in the project initiation stage as a mechanical design engineer
  • Provide mechanical input to prepare PSA & Tender documents
  • Technical input to detail design and tender document
  • Ensuring H&S and legislative compliance throughout the design.
  • Applying new ideas & technologies which will increase the system efficiency
  • Technical support to all Teams and management.
  • Providing inputs for improving Drainage design manuals
  • Providing inputs for improving QCS
  • Reviewing PMC & Consultant submission related to Mechanical aspect
  • Review of Concept Preliminary & Detail Design documents
  • Reviewing Tender and Contract documents with respect to Mechanical works prior to Tender invitation and award
  • Review with respect to specifications, codes, and requirements
  • Review of Manufacturer pre-qualification document. (Technical review committee)
  • Planning the project
  • Inter deportment co- ordination (Site visits, meeting with internal & external stake holders)
  • Concept finalization in consideration with Design, Project and O&M deportment
  • Finalization of Preliminary & Detail Design documents.
  • Monitoring and maintaining schedule. (Conducting Monthly review meetings)
  • Arranging Technical review meeting based on the stakeholder requirement.
  • Review of contract documentation, leading meetings and managing finances
  • Closing the project. (Ensure the tender awarded with all approval and details)
  • Support to Execution team after award.
  • Mechanical System Design & Equipment sizing Calculation.
  • Project Management. (Project Life cycle & Networking)
  • Pumping Station's Hydraulic & Mechanical System Design
  • Sewage Treatment Plant's Mechanical Design.
  • Surge analysis & CFD review

Essential skills and knowledge

  • BSc/BEng or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrable experience in design & construction of infrastructure projects, with satisfactory exposure to all related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience with management capacity.
  • Proven track record of managing major infrastructure projects with Design, Engineering & Construction Management functions in particular PMC experience of leading a team.
  • Very good knowledge and experience with international & GCC design and construction code
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would be advantageous
  • Ability to understand, appreciate and adapt to various engineering practices
