Introduction

Our client, a leader in the oil & gas sector, is seeking a skilled Senior Marine Engineer to join their team. This is a temporary, offering a 12-month renewable contract, office based in Rotterdam. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective marine systems designs, with a focus on FPSOs and potentially LNG products, while collaborating with a globally recognized team.

What are you going to do 

  • Independently lead and execute marine engineering projects.
  • Contribute to the design of innovative, high-quality marine systems for floating production units.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Occasional travel to global project offices or shipyards may be required.

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in conceptual and detailed design of marine and production systems (FSO, FPSO, Drilling Units, LNG Carriers, etc.) for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficient interface knowledge across disciplines including E&I, Naval, Piping, HVAC, Technical Safety, and Regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in shipyard operations, marine equipment vendors, and LNG carrier design/operation is preferred.
  • Well-versed in rules of classification societies (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and HSSE policies.
  • Expertise with review methodologies like HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.
  • Strong balance of technological expertise and commercial knowledge in marine equipment evaluation.
