Introduction

  • Supervise various civil maintenance and refurbishment works on daily basis observing HSE, quality control, hygiene and department procedures.
  • Manage site personnel and works by contractors, provide inter-discipline support whenever required and liaise/coordinate with various end users and focal points following HSE, quality control, hygiene and department procedures.

What are you going to do 

  • Assist in the preparation of scope of work, BOQ, estimate schedule and reports of civil maintenance works.
  • Approximately 80% of the work period involves working and supervising on site and the remaining 20% in the office.
  • Access to contractors' rates and access to offices and residential buildings which involves security and safety of occupants.
  • Job holder is expected to maintain confidentiality in all company matters including layouts, drawings of buildings and other facilities.
  • Receives work requests and notifications from Sr. Planning Technician (Civil), helpdesk, Sr. Maintenance Engineer (Civil), Head, Maintenance and visit locations to assess the work scope, liaise with end-users and focal points and as appropriate, prepare specifications, sketches, estimates for supervisor's review and approval.
  • Supervises assigned contractor personnel engaged in civil maintenance, modifications, renovations and new installations are undertaken by Contractors in accordance with the respective contracts and ensures adherence with contract and procedures, by contractor personnel working on site and notifies his immediate supervisor or section head of any emergency or safety concerns where action or control is required.
  • Ensures that safety measures are being strictly adhered to, i.e. overalls (helmets, safety boots, etc.) are being worn.
  • In the event an accident occurs, ensures prompt and timely reports are prepared, giving nature of accident, date and time of accident, action taken to deal with the accident and proposing remedial measures as to how to present future recurrence.
  • Troubleshoots various problems relating to plumbing, drain blocks, roof leaks etc. including investigation to find out the root cause of the problem and recommend and implement the necessary remedial measures.
  • Maintains weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual records, periodically visits sites to ensure satisfactory progress of work carried out in safe manner and reporting unusual circumstances or condition to his supervisor.
  • Assists his supervisor in the preparation of scope of works and BOQ for new contracts and variations.
  • Participates in inspections of handing over of new and released buildings with other departments' teams and provide snag lists and other required reports to his supervisor.
  • Develops and understand AutoCAD drawings for minor office modifications and site work requirements.
  • Perform additional duties aside from those set forth above in order to address business needs.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering/Technology with 10 years relevant experience.
  • Qatar/GCC countries work experience and higher qualifications are desirable.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/SAP/MS Office.
  • Good level of English (written and spoken).
  • Candidate to hold valid Qatar Driving License
