Introduction

Perform detailed budget tracking, variance analysis, and monthly report packages as required for assigned project and ad hoc analysis as requested by other functional areas.

What are you going to do 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly budget analysis and cash forecasting.

    • Handle monthly accruals.

    • Work closely with Budget Owners to review current and forecast spends.

    • Review monthly project actuals and provide variance analysis against forecast.

    • Track site non-labor costs by Purchase Order and perform detailed analysis on spending trends.

    • Gather information related to new trends and changes in commitments to provide monthly forecasts for Project Reporting.

    • Perform a variety of month-end reporting requirements and additional analysis.

  • Support cost review and analysis of EPC contract through tracking, approvals and forecasting.

    • Review monthly EPC invoice and creation/completion of EPC Invoice Checklist.

    • Work closely with Progress Team to monitor Milestone and Progress projected forecasts.

    • Provide monthly forecasts to be utilized for Project Reporting.

    • Assist in Change Order review to ensure accuracy in cash flow.

    • Assist Progress Team in tracking Payment Milestones and creation/completion of monthly Milestone Approval process.

    • Present Milestones for review in weekly site 'Plan of the Week' meeting with Project Management.

    • Perform monthly detailed Cash Flow analysis of the EPC contract.

    • Perform a variety of month-end EPC Contract Reporting requirements.

  • Maintain budget oversight, controls, and tools development.

    • Input Purchase Requisitions as needed by the Project.

    • Track and report Project Local Spend.

    • Review and process 3 party contractor invoices for payment and maintain a detailed record of transactions.

    • Assist in preparing wire payments with Accounting and Accounts Payable.

    • Work closely with Cash Management and Financial Planning & Analysis Team to ensure all information is communicated accurately to support Cash Calls.

    • Assist in new tool development and continuous process improvement.

  • Assist Site personnel with cost-related activities and projects.

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and assignments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties)

Essential skills and knowledge

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related business administration required.

Experience

  • 5+ years in a comparable project cost analysis role developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Estimate at Completion (EAC) required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Computer skills with the ability to use Excel and database applications.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of project finance and cost management.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of project schedule concepts.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
