Introduction

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer for a 12-month renewable contract based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. You will join a globally recognized leader in floating energy infrastructure, supporting high-value offshore projects through strategic procurement, supplier management, and commercial leadership.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities * Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive procurement plans aligned with project scope, timelines, and budgets.
* Execute sourcing strategies in alignment with Category Management frameworks. * Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
* Lead negotiations for critical packages to secure favorable commercial terms while mitigating contractual and operational risks. * Collaborate closely with Category Management teams when required.
* Issue and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy, compliance with specifications, and adherence to company policies. * Ensure procurement activities remain within budget constraints.
* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance. * Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and safety standards.
* Provide regular procurement status updates to project managers and key stakeholders. * Proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Mentor, guide, and monitor a team of buyers. * Provide support and expertise to ensure team performance and development.

Essential skills and knowledge

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Skills

* Minimum 10 years of procurement experience within the oil and gas industry. * Strong expertise in commercial negotiations and supplier management.
* Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards. * Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
