Introduction

What are you going to do

We are looking for an experienced Reservoir Simulation Contractor to support a range of carbon capture and storage (CCS) / carbon storage programs. This position will focus on developing, calibrating, and utilizing reservoir simulation models to assess CO₂ storage performance, optimize injection approaches, and ensure safe, compliant long-term storage.

The ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities in multiphase flow simulation and subsurface modeling, along with hands-on experience in CO₂ storage, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), or gas injection projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and run dynamic reservoir simulation models for CO₂ storage formations
  • Perform simulation studies to assess:
    • CO₂ injectivity and plume behavior
    • Pressure changes and management approaches
    • Storage capacity and effectiveness
    • Containment integrity and trapping processes
  • Incorporate geological, petrophysical, and fluid datasets into simulation models
  • Carry out history matching and uncertainty analysis when required
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (geoscience, petrophysics, drilling, facilities, and regulatory)
  • Provide technical contributions to MMV (Monitoring, Measurement, and Verification) planning
  • Prepare clear technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders

Essential skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required
  • Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in reservoir simulation
  • Demonstrated experience with industry-standard simulation tools, preferably ECLIPSE / INTERSECT
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Multiphase flow in porous media
    • CO₂ thermodynamics and phase behavior
    • Core reservoir engineering fundamentals
  • Experience integrating geological models into simulation workflows
  • Experience linking wellbore hydraulics with reservoir simulation models
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, MATLAB, and Excel
