Introduction

Our client, a distinguished leader in the LNG sector, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This role is located in Afungi, Mozambique, and offers a 12-month renewable contract with a 28/28 rotation schedule. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in a critical energy project by ensuring efficient contract administration and supporting a multidisciplinary team.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer EPC contract sections in strict accordance with agreed terms, consistently safeguarding our client's interests.
  • Maintain detailed change order logs, assist contract engineers, and handle all contractual correspondence.
  • Accurately review contractor change order requests and applications for payment.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment with technical and project requirements.
  • Analyze contractor proposals and provide well-informed recommendations for appropriate responses.
  • Prepare thorough supporting documentation for change orders, adhering to company procedures.
  • Provide daily technical and contractual support to the site management team to ensure smooth operations.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • A relevant degree is required, preferably in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with EPC/EPCC construction contracts and a strong understanding of construction law.
  • Proven ability to address complex challenges effectively while fostering collaboration.
  • Extensive experience in planning, coordinating, and managing project deliverables efficiently.
  • Proficiency in working alongside contractors, technicians, and site project teams.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with expertise in LNG or oil and gas projects being highly desirable.
  • Strong command of English for effective communication in a global work environment.
