Overview

Our client is seeking qualified and experienced QC Inspectors for deployment at a major fabrication yard in Singapore. Suitable candidates will be assigned to one of the following disciplines:

  • QC Inspector – Structural
  • QC Inspector – Piping
  • QC Inspector – Coating

The selected personnel will be responsible for ensuring that fabrication, installation, welding, testing, and coating activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Verify compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections with construction teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and third-party inspectors.
  • Review and monitor NCRs, corrective actions, and punch list items.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are performed safely and in compliance with yard requirements.

Structural Inspection

  • Perform inspections of structural steel fabrication, assembly, fit-up, dimensional control, and welding activities.
  • Verify compliance with approved welding procedures and welder qualifications.
  • Conduct visual welding inspections and review NDT results.
  • Inspect structural dimensions, alignment, and tolerances.

Piping Inspection

  • Inspect piping fabrication, installation, fit-up, and testing activities.
  • Verify material identification and traceability requirements.
  • Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, flushing, and leak tests as required.
  • Review test packages and quality documentation.

Coating Inspection

  • Inspect surface preparation, blasting, painting, and coating activities.
  • Verify environmental conditions and surface cleanliness requirements.
  • Measure surface profile, WFT, DFT, and coating adhesion where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with approved coating specifications and manufacturer recommendations.

Qualification &Experience Requirements

QC Inspector – Structural

  • Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certification (Mandatory).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant QC inspection experience in structural fabrication and welding works.
  • Experience in offshore, marine, shipyard, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects preferred.

QC Inspector – Piping

  • Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • Non-API Certified candidates are acceptable.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant QC inspection experience in piping fabrication, installation, and testing.
  • Ability to interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and quality documentation.

QC Inspector – Coating

  • Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • BGAS Level II Certification (Mandatory).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant coating inspection experience.
  • Experience in blasting, painting, surface preparation, and coating inspection activities.

Required Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC inspection processes and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards relevant to the discipline.
  • Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced yard environment.
