Join a growing underground gold operation as a Project Mine Geologist. You'll design, supervise and interpret underground drill programs, support grade control and geological modelling, and help grow existing resources. Working closely with Mining, Planning and Operations, you'll play a key role in identifying new mineralisation and extending mine life.

What are you going to do 

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Mine Geologist to join a growing Western Australian gold operation.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will play a key role in designing, supervising and interpreting underground drilling programs focused on adding value to existing resources, identifying additional mineralisation and helping extend the life of mine.

This is a hands-on technical position suited to an underground gold geologist who is ready to take greater ownership of drilling, geological interpretation and resource growth while supporting and mentoring junior members of the geology team.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience working as a geologist within an underground gold mining operation.
  • Previous experience as a Project Mine Geologist, Underground Mine Geologist or experienced Mine Geologist.
  • Strong underground grade control experience.
  • Experience with face mapping, sampling and geological interpretation.
  • Experience designing and managing underground diamond and/or grade control drilling programs.
  • Strong geological modelling and wireframing capability.
  • Experience with QAQC, reconciliation and geological database management.
  • Good understanding of underground mining methods, dilution and ore recovery.
  • Ability to mentor junior geologists and contribute to the development of a small geology team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Mining Engineering, Planning and Production teams.
  • Experience with Deswik, Datamine, Leapfrog and/or AcQuire will be highly regarded.
  • Australian working rights.
