Introduction

This is a hands-on project delivery role where you'll take ownership of projects from handover and kick-off through engineering, procurement, fabrication and delivery to final close-out.

You'll work closely with engineering, design, procurement, workshop and commercial teams while acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

What are you going to do 

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple engineering and service-based projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in line with contractual requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from initial handover through to completion and close-out
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and key milestones
  • Managing project budgets, costs, forecasting, WIP and invoicing
  • Monitoring project risks, issues and schedule impacts
  • Coordinating engineering, drafting, procurement, fabrication and workshop activities
  • Managing suppliers, subcontractors and external service providers
  • Reviewing and managing contractual requirements, variations and commercial obligations
  • Leading internal and client-facing project progress meetings
  • Maintaining clear and accurate project reporting and documentation
  • Working closely with clients, contractors and EPCM representatives
  • Supporting and mentoring Project Coordinators and junior project personnel where required
  • Attending client and mine sites as required

Essential skills and knowledge

We're looking for someone with practical project delivery experience within an engineering, mining, manufacturing, OEM or heavy industrial environment. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Strong experience in a Project Manager or similar project delivery position
  • Experience delivering engineering, capital equipment, manufacturing or service-based projects
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project costs and budgets
  • An understanding of contracts, variations and contractual obligations
  • Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, suppliers and fabrication/workshop activities
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A relevant qualification in Project Management, Mechanical/Manufacturing/Process Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • A current Australian C Class Driver's Licence

Experience within mining equipment, bulk materials handling, mechanical equipment, OEM or fabricated equipment projects would be highly regarded.
