Introduction

  • Project & Facilities Lead is responsible for leading the project and technical interface activities between the Pipelines Project and other projects, third party operators and end-users operating within Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) and offshore to ensure interface parties are provided with the required information, by the scheduled date, to facilitate timely alignment and approvals from relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all project engineering activities required to support efficient delivery of all aspects of Offshore Facilities, Onshore landfall and Onshore facilities (including Beach Valve Station) and ensure technical compliance with project specifications for the full scope of supply within the Pipelines battery limit and established project interface.
  • Coordinate alignment discussions with Onshore Project, Topsides, Pipelines & Jackets Engineering PMT to secure timely endorsement and approval of the Detailed Design package and ensure readiness to proceed to the Construction Phase, utilizing excellent communication skills combined with the ability to relate well to people at all levels and different cultures.
  • Provide support to the interface team to answer multi-disciplines queries.

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee Contractor, review project and technical reports and drive alignment with SMEs for all engineering deliverables.
  • Lead assessment of pipeline crossing strategies, design of onshore pipelines and cable crossings and evaluation of the impact on the neighboring structures. Provide recommendations to PMT to minimize impact and optimize constructability.
  • Coordinate and provide support on multi-discipline subjects until resolution is agreed.
  • Provide coordination support for the onshore interface activities between the Offshore Topsides, Pipelines & Jackets Engineering Teams within each of the Projects and other Companies, Operators and end-users operating within Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC).
  • Ensure all documents requested by Third Parties / Government Bodies are provided in a timely manner to obtain required acceptance / agreements / approval of project interfaces.
  • Support development of deliverables associated to pipeline shore pull, including trench design, calculation of pull force and required anchoring and evaluation of pipeline anchor blocks.
  • Identifying interfaces and battery limits and supporting their management and /or timely resolution across multi-disciplines / multi-contractors;
  • Oversee the planning and executing of all required geophysical and geotechnical onshore surveys executed by Contractor.
  • Participate in technical meetings as appropriate and provide support in presentations and preparation of project reports as appropriate. Provide inputs to the weekly and monthly reports as directed.
  • Identifying and reporting risks and/or opportunities to the risk coordinator. Proposing risk mitigations, as requested.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 12+ years of project and facilities engineering related experience.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience in onshore and offshore pipeline design and execution including trench design and trenchless crossing methods such as micro-tunnelling and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).
  • Experience in pipeline shore pull design and execution.
  • Significant experience in working with FEED/ Contractors and interfacing with specialized service suppliers (e.g., HDD).
  • Experience with government agencies, contractors and vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of offshore and onshore facilities.
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication / written skills and ability to work with different disciplines.
  • High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of onshore pipelines and facilities.
