Introduction

Join our client's team in the oil and gas sector as a Process Safety Engineer. This 12-month temporary contract (with the potential for renewal) offers a hybrid work arrangement, where you will be office based in Rotterdam for three days a week. In this critical role, you will drive the development and execution of process safety initiatives, ensuring operational safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Hazards and Effects Management Process and Operational Risk Management within operations or projects.
  • Guide lifecycle hazard management methodologies, including Bowtie, PHA, HAZOP, HAZID, and barrier-based risk management.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and manage action tracking for projects within the process safety scope.
  • Assist in Safety and Environmentally Critical Element audits, conducted by technical teams, clients, or regulatory bodies.
  • Provide support during regulatory inspections, third-party verifications, and project audits.

Essential skills and knowledge

Experience:

  • Experience: Over 5 years in process safety, technical safety, or a related discipline. Offshore project experience is preferred.
  • Process Analysis and Design: Strong ability to assess and enhance operational safety protocols.
  • Incident Management: Skilled in learning from incidents to mitigate future risks.
  • Hazard and Risk Management: Expertise in formal safety assessment and hazards monitoring.
  • Audit and Compliance: Proficient in internal audits and monitoring performance against safety standards.
