About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Excellence Assistant Engineer to support operational excellence, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and commercial interfaces within a large-scale gasification complex on Jurong Island. This role will work closely with Operations, Production, Commercial, Finance, and external customers to ensure accurate reporting, data analysis, invoicing processes, and operational communication across the plant. The ideal candidate will have a technical engineering background, exposure to process plant operations, and strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

  • Manage customer nominations and coordinate product availability planning to support operational requirements.
  • Coordinate utility demand planning for power, natural gas, and other plant utilities.
  • Perform month-end data consolidation and exchange with customers to facilitate accurate invoicing processes.
  • Generate billing information and support invoice processing through SAP.
  • Support Production vs Demand (PvD) activities for merchant products and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain operational reports including production, downtime, reliability, and performance metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve reporting dashboards to support operational decision-making.
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret operational data from various plant systems and technical documents.
  • Monitor overall plant status and communicate operational updates, planned shutdowns, and downtime events to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as an interface between Operations, Commercial, Finance, and customers on contractual, technical, and operational matters.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and business processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting for regional and global business requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, process plant, petrochemical, refinery, industrial gas, utilities, or similar industrial environment.
  • Exposure to plant operations, production planning, operations coordination, process engineering, or technical support functions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical information and operational data.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work effectively with both technical and commercial teams.
  • Experience supporting invoicing, production reporting, demand planning, or operations coordination will be highly advantageous.
