What are you going to do 

  • Understand the drainage water treatment plant facility and associated assets
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on all process related parameters for Sewage Treatment Works (STWs) and Package Treatment Plants (PTPs)
  • Advise operational changes and improvements in the event of process parameters exceeding the allowable thresholds
  • Check and follow up on quality related issues for raw sewage, treated water and processed bio solids.
  • Review effluent quality data and associated process information, analyse trends and issues and recommend possible courses of action
  • Provide expert advice regarding sewage quality data when information illustrates non-compliance
  • Carry out assessments for all process unit and provide information as required
  • Provide the data and information to archive section for records
  • Analyse data in a pro-active manner to ensure a wide and comprehensive analysis of all process units
  • Propose optimisation of process units, procedures and methodology to STW engineer
  • Carry out site visits to oversee all process unit works and ensure control framework is operating as requested
  • Keep up to date with international best practice on process engineering, environment compliance and relevant practices
  • Share relevant knowledge and experience, understand and communicate to others the various aims, concepts, principles and practice applied to deliver/meet drainage network operations & maintenance’s future trade effluent and environmental needs
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures within the section and comply to any new work instructions

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualification:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Education qualification obtained from North America, West Europe, Australia
  • Holder of Chartered Membership in relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering) would be an advantage
  • Holder of current/valid Qatar Driving License

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in water/wastewater management industry
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary Organisation preferably in the Middle East
  • Extensive knowledge of leading practices in drainage networks operations and maintenance
  • Understand the drainage water treatment plant facility and associated assets especially process related parameters for Sewage Treatment Works (STWs) and Package Treatment Plants (PTPs) and advise operational changes and improvements.
  • Able to assess all process unit and provide information and improvement where required
  • Experience of implementation of optimisation of process units, procedures and methodology to Section.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Packages
  • Ability to deliver, managing team and support change
  • Knowledge of Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and staff at all levels within the Organisation
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Arabic is preferred
