Brunel is currently searching for a Pay App Coordinator for a full-time contract position with our mining client.

What are you going to do 

This position will be both Work from Home (, and will then transition to site-based at the Bagdad, AZ mine site, and will report to the Accounting Manager.

Area of Focus:

Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide diversified support for the leadership and staff of the Project Accounting unit for the Project Controls team on a mining expansion project.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution and optimization of the accounting and administrative processes of the Payment Applications (Pay Apps).
  • Manage the e-mail account assigned for the Pay Apps process.
  • Register and review the service receipts in the contract system (GCAS).
  • Obtain documentation and approvals from the different departments involved in the Pay app review process, before the creation of the service receipts.
  • Manage delays in the approval process and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Be the link between the Accounting, Contracts, and Project Controls departments for the realization of service receipts.
  • Participate in the accounting month end closing activities.
  • Prepare weekly Pay Apps log for contractor's Pay Apps status.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for the Accounting and Contracts departments.
  • Fulfill other functions inherent to the position assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Managerial responsibility: Does not manage people, function, projects or programs.

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Minimum experience of two years in accounting, financial and/or administrative roles.
  • Must be a self-starter, quick learner, highly productive and have strong business ethics.
  • Must have working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products.
  • Aconex and SAP at intermediate level.
  • Proficient in all MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
  • Knowledge of contracts and accounting systems.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

What we offer 

Offer:

  • This position offers a flat day rate and will start as remote/work from home, but will transition to a 4x1 rotation at the mine site in Bagdad, Arizona after 9-12 months. Schedule will then turn into 4 weeks working at site, 1 week off at home (may work during off with on occasion with prior approval).
  • Once transitioned to site, the contractor will stay in the single- status housing camp. All flights and car rentals covered.
  • Full-time contractors are eligible to participate in our medical, dental and vision plans that will begin on your first day of employment.
  • 401K matching - 50% match, up to 3%.
  • Position will be based on a 5 day work week, average working day is 10 hours.
  • Position includes 3 days of PTO, no paid holidays, paid for days worked only.
