In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing drilling efficiency, reducing operational costs, and minimizing Non-Productive Time (NPT) across our offshore drilling campaigns. What are you going to do 

  • Real-Time Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze real-time surface and downhole drilling data (e.g., MSE, torque and drag, vibration, hydraulics, ROP) to identify inefficiencies and structural constraints.
  • Parameter Optimization: Provide data-driven technical recommendations to the offshore rig team regarding optimal drilling parameters (e.g., Weight on Bit, RPM, flow rates) to enhance ROP and extend bit/BHA life.
  • Performance Benchmarking: Develop, track, and present Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and technical reports to benchmark performance across different rigs and drilling campaigns.
  • NPT & Risk Mitigation: Investigate and diagnose drilling anomalies or dysfunctions (e.g., stick-slip, pack-offs, lost circulation) to mitigate risks and eliminate NPT.
  • Digital & Automation Integration: Partner with major service providers like Baker Hughes or Pason Systems to deploy digital twins, autonomous directional drilling, and automated mud management applications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate between subsurface geologists, reservoir engineers, and the offshore operations crew to align technical targets with optimal well engineering designs.
  • Lessons Learned: Author comprehensive "End of Well" reports and capture lessons learned to drive continuous engineering improvement in future offshore campaigns.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related technical discipline).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in offshore drilling operations or drilling optimization roles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard drilling engineering and simulation software (e.g., OpenWells, WellPlan, Compass, or platform analytics like Corva).
  • Domain Knowledge: Advanced understanding of drilling mechanics, bit design, hydraulics, drilling fluids (mud systems), and directional drilling principles.
  • Certifications: Valid BOSIET / HUET (Offshore Survival) certification and IWCF Well Control certification (preferred).
  • Strong critical thinking and the ability to process high-velocity data under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively translate complex data insights into clear operational instructions for offshore rig crews.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to safety and environmental standards.
