Introduction

  • Reporting to the Head of Construction Onshore, the Onshore Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for supervising and monitoring the on-site construction activities for the Pipelines and Cables of Offshore related to Pipelines and Cables onshore construction works including onshore corridors construction, beach valve station and tie-ins to offshore pipelines and cables and to inlet facilities of onshore gas processing plant.
  • To ensure the objectives at construction sites are safely met within the approved scope, procedures and schedule for onshore Pipelines and Cables to the highest quality standards.
  • Supervise and monitor effectively all onshore construction and installation of Pipelines and Cables activities of the project, to ensure the technical objectives are safely met within the approved scope, procedures and schedule.
  • On-site close supervision over relevant onshore construction activities including beach pull assistance, pipelay, cablelay, beach valve station, inlet facilities as per the project milestones.
  • Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.

What are you going to do 

  • Focal point at site, for promoting and implementing safety on construction site. Implement the safety observations reporting and monitoring.
  • Along with Onshore Construction Lead, assist Onshore Head of Construction in executing Project responsibilities for the onshore scope of work.
  • Supervise & monitor all construction activities related to the onshore scope of the Project, ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
  • Effective coordination & communication for onshore site activities and provide technical support to Contractor, quality, safety, planning and engineering.
  • Monitor daily progress and produce reporting for onshore construction, direct and supervise Contractor, ensuring strict adherence to procedures and/or any changes to scope.
  • Ensure & supervise the onshore construction input into gate deliverables and site implementation.
  • Ensure all approved documents for onshore construction, pipelay and cable lay are adhered to at site and any deviation is discussed in timely manner in accordance with the EPC contract requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of mitigation for construction aspects of the Risk Management Plan and verify the mitigation as agreed. Monitor respective onshore construction changes, and assist Head of Construction Onshore in justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Engineering Degree / HND/HNC or similar, relevant experience maybe taken in lieu if sufficient years in the field of onshore pipelines and cables installation & construction.
  • Minimum 15 years experience in onshore construction with at least 8 years demonstrated at a senior construction level in major capital pipeline & cable projects within the onshore oil & gas industry.
  • Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds
  • Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the construction of Onshore LNG production facilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
