Introduction

We have a client seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Inspector to join their team in Corpus Christi, TX, for a 1-year renewable assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA/QC inspection and surveillance with a focus on mechanical piping, pressure vessels, and pumps. This role involves ensuring quality and compliance for new construction and ongoing projects.

What are you going to do 

  • Job Title: Mechanical Piping Inspector
  • Location: Corpus Christi, TX (100% on-site)
  • Schedule: 5/50
  • Work Type: W2 contract
  • Duration: 1 year with potential for renewal
  • Pay Rate: Hourly with 1.5x OT
  • Per Diem: Per diem is offered for candidates who meet the distance requirements, but local talent will be prioritized first.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveillance and inspections of mechanical piping systems, pressure vessels, and pumps to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Oversee quality control for new construction projects and verify installation integrity.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to address any quality-related issues.
  • Monitor and document inspection activities, ensuring all work aligns with applicable codes and standards.

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical piping inspection.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC surveillance processes and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure vessels, pumps, and piping systems.
  • Experience with new construction and project-based work is required.
  • LNG project experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with both owner and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is highly desirable.
