What are you going to do 

We are reaching out regarding an excellent permanent opportunity with our client, a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector. They are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Material Handling Engineer to our client's team in Bangalore to take ownership of mechanical handling studies and package engineering for complex FPSO and offshore oil & gas projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical handling concepts, philosophies, studies, reports, and presentations.
  • Review equipment/package drawings, piping & equipment layouts, and structural framing for handling requirements.
  • Provide handling solutions for cranes, monorail hoists, chain blocks, deck trolleys, davits, and other lifting equipment.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews using AVEVA E3D and Navisworks and resolve handling-related queries.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, 3D designers, vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical specifications, equipment lists, vendor evaluations/TBEs, and support PO execution.
  • Manage package engineering activities from pre-PO through FAT, safety studies, commissioning, and yard support.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes, and standards.
  • Identify efficient, safe, and cost-effective handling solutions.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • BE/B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in static/rotating/handling equipment and packages within Oil & Gas.
  • Minimum 5 years' mechanical handling study experience with at least 2 major projects.
  • Minimum 3 years' offshore Oil & Gas handling experience.
  • FPSO experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD, Navisworks 3D Simulate and Manage, Aveva E3D, MS Tools (PPT, Excel, Word).
