What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for Cataloguing of Chemicals, Oils, Lubricants, Abrasives that are Hazardous in nature.
  • Review Safety Datasheets and Technical Data Sheets provided, to decide Hazardous Material Classification based on UN / NFPA / GHS classification system.
  • Identify Risks and Hazards applicable in planning the storage of Hazardous material in the warehouse as per applicable statutory requirements.
  • Responsible for creating Storage Bin, Info Records, Batch Management and Hazardous Master for applicable master records.
  • Periodic inspection covering all Chemical warehouses and prepare report with observation to prevent any unsafe practice and incompatible storage of Chemicals.
  • Shall be able to Drive the Car and make inspection visits to the Warehouse locations as directed.
  • Review Audit observations and ensure closure with corrective measures for resolution and prevention in future.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and update warehouse staff for ongoing HSE measures and proper usage of tools & tackles and act as HSE focal point to whenever required. Responsible to review and update the Safety reports issued timely by the department.
  • Conduct Technical evaluation of chemicals to evaluate technical offers from bidders to ensure the availability of correct material on time.
  • Coordinate with procurement and user department for resolution of technical clarification from supplier. Update technical specifications of chemicals for valid changes.
  • Review existing chemicals for specification enhancement, standardization, and elimination of duplicates.
  • Conduct gap analysis for Chemical stored in the Warehouse and provide necessary guideline to the staff for the safe handling of Chemicals and proper usage of adequate PPE.
  • Conduct periodic HSE audits in the warehouse and prepare detailed report for the review. Assist warehouse supervisors for the resolution of HSE audit observations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Essential skills and knowledge

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.* A minimum of 10 years' experience in Materials Management of Chemicals out of which a minimum of 6 years' experience in Oil and Gas / Allied Process Industry. ERP knowledge in SAP MM is mandatory.
* Well versed in managing HSE compliance of Chemical Handling and storage.* Knowledge of process system and chemicals used in the Oil & gas Industry.
* Exposure of SAP Chemicals Cataloguing and integration of data with associated functions.* Knowledge of compatibility study of various chemicals to define the Storage requirement.
* Well versed with Hazardous Material Classification based on UN / NFPA / GHS classification system.* Knowledge of international HSE standard ISO 45001.
* Experience in HSE audits for Chemical handling & storage in Oil & Gas / Process Industry.* Shall be Computer literate and good working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
* Exposure of Materials Management processes for improvements in chemical warehousing processes.* Good written and spoken English, problem solving skills, technical communication and interpersonal skills.
* Should have valid Qatar driving license.
