Introduction

Direct, monitor the activities of the Materials inspectors and advise on technical matters to provide technical clearance for acceptance of incoming materials at the Goods Inward Inspection.

Administer Goods Inward Section and provides technical guidance to the Goods Inward Inspectors

Direct inspectors to ensure received materials certificates are in compliance with the specifications and standards.

What are you going to do 

  • Review & analyse suppliers contributing for non-conformanoes to specifications and report to Sr; Materials Engineer {Inspection);
  • Review Lifting Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (LE), LE Personnel Certificate as per COMPANY Lifting Regulation prior to submitting to COMPANY Sr; Lifting Engineer;
  • Responsible for all activities related to lifting equipment inspection & certifications in co-ordination with concerned department;
  • Liaise with Warehouse Supervisors and advise on materials / equipment preservation requirements, monitor preservation of materials as per stores request;
  • Assign certifications for stock materials and price agreement items as per guidelines;
  • Shall have Analytical and diagnostic involvement of individual inspection results; Solves complex problems with moderate responsibility under clearly defined guidelines;
  • Maintain Inspection Logs with a clear status for all inspected PO and Lifting Item CNR Log and advise the status to Sr; Materials Engineer (Inspection) on weekly basis;
  • Ensure certifications are made available for all Inspected & accepted items in SAP/ECM;
  • Adhere to section work instructions / guidelines to perform the inspection activities;
  • Submit weekly & monthly report to Sr; Materials Engineer (Inspection) for the Materials Inspection activities of both TPI & Inward Inspection;
  • Shall be able to Drive the Car and make inspection visits to the Warehouse locations as directed.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical / Metallurgical;
  • LEEA Part 1 certification;
  • IRCA Certified ISO 9001-Lead Auditor desired;
  • Inspection certification in CSWIP 32 Senior Welding Inspector or equivalent, ASNT/PCN Level II in Radiography; Ultrasonic; Magnetic Particle and penetrant testing or equivalent, BGAS/NACE Painting Inspector level II or equivalent desired;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience QA/QC and Inspection of Materials & Equipment out of which minimum 6 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industry as supervisory capacity; Shall have a minimum of Five (5) years has been spent in inspection and certification of Lifting Equipment;
  • Should be able read and interpret drawings, data sheets and specifications;
  • Shall have thorough knowledge in relevant international standards, specifications of API, ASME; ISO, NEMA, IEEE, IEC; BASEEFA, ATEX, ANSI, ASTM; TEMA, BS etc;
  • Shall be familiar with international LE and FPE standards and codes for inspection, testing and certification;
  • Good command on English language, Computer literacy in appropriate software's (MS Office suite) & SAP;
  • Good analytical skills to resolve technical discrepancy; Shall have good interpersonal, technical report writing and communication skills and multi-disciplinary technical knowledge and inspection experience;
  • Should have valid Qatar Driving License;
  • Capability to understand and follow international safety standard followed in Oil & Gas industry; IOSH certificate Managing Safely or equivalent is mandatorily required prior to start working with COMPANY;
  • Certifications in Quality Management Systems;
  • CSWIP /PCN / ASNT NDT LevelIin UT / MT / PT / RT;
  • CSWIP / AWS- Welding Inspector 3;2;
  • BGAS / NACE Coating Inspector- Level 11.
