Introduction

Our client is a growing manufacturer making significant investments in automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing technology. They are seeking a Manufacturing Automation Specialist to support automation projects, equipment commissioning, control system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across their production operations.

What are you going to do 

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems
  • Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve controls, instrumentation, and automation issues
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support automation projects from design through implementation
  • Modify and enhance existing control systems
  • Interpret electrical drawings and controls documentation
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and system integrations
  • Support automation projects across multiple manufacturing locations

Essential skills and knowledge

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC platforms
  • Strong Ladder Logic programming skills
  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting industrial automation systems
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work onsite in the Lower Main Land

Preferred

  • Beckhoff / TwinCAT experience
  • HMI development and support experience
  • Robotics exposure
  • Food, beverage, packaging, or consumer goods manufacturing experience
  • Industrial networking knowledge
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience
  • Multi-site manufacturing support experience
