Introduction

  • To review / support all nonstandard, critical lifting and heavy transport operations across all EPC’s (1,2,3 and 4.) Provide technical support to Contractor(s)/ Subcontractor(s) and ensure compliance to Project requirements. To provide mentoring and coaching of Contractor and Subcontractor personnel onsite.
  • This position is located at RLIC Site to supervise the execution of the lifting and rigging works to support construction and system completion, ensuring compliance with the approved construction sequence, and allowing a seamless transition with the pre-commissioning, then commissioning activities.
  • The Lifting and Rigging Superintendent will be responsible for the onsite verification and provides technical support to contractors and subcontractors during the planning and execution of lifting related activities. This position will be required to work across all EPC’s job sites.

What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for the technical review of Construction Lifting plans and calculations in line with Project, RLIC and Company requirements.
  • Responsible for field based onsite audits and verification to ensure compliance with the applicable procedures.
  • Liaises with multiple interfaces (Onshore Construction, PMT, EPC Contractor, OpCo and RLC) to support Construction lifting operations.
  • Responsible for accurate review, impute to all associated eCPW and PTW across all work fronts for all lifting and transportation of heavy equipment.
  • Supports and provides oversight for all lifting and transportation from port areas, laydown areas and equipment coming into the project sites.
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the highest level of integrity in dealings with all parties.
  • Effective team player who collaborates well with others.
  • Communicates concisely in written and verbal context; prepares high quality written documents including e-mails.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the specified Lifting and Rigging field.
  • Knowledge of all lifting equipment and various crane types, including Marine (Port Use).
  • Experience in major Construction Projects (including brown-field work) with total capital expenditure >USD$1B.
  • Ability to review engineered and critical lift plans with EPC Lifting Engineers to ensure safe lifting and rigging execution.
  • Ability to review manual rigging arrangements to determine safety and suitability of application.
  • Experience with multi-cultural type Projects.
  • Experienced working with superlift capacity cranes and tower gantry systems lifting loads of over 500 tonnes.
  • Experienced developing AutoCAD lifting plans for technical heavy lifting operations.
  • Associates degree in Engineering / Science or Diploma (Mechanical) or extensive industry experience.
  • Crane Appointed Person qualification from a recognized awarding body.
  • Vocational Achievement in Steel Erecting or Rigging from a recognized awarding body.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to review and comment on technical documents.
  • Competent to mentor and coach contractors / subcontractors during the development of AutoCAD drawings for Lift Plans.
  • Ability to check engineered calculations for heavy lifting involving superlift cranes and SPMTs.
  • Good interpersonal skills
