Overview

Our Houston office requires a Lead Planning Engineer to support major capital development projects in the offshore subsea oil & gas sector. Candidates must have a minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience and in-depth knowledge of project planning from an owner/operator perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project planning and scheduling activities
  • Consolidated planning reports
  • Adherence to company procedures and contractor coordination plans and maintain the project master control schedule, including: of work breakdown structure
  • Schedule and progress measurement system
  • Milestones and interface milestones
  • Contingency management process
  • Schedule trends and implement corrective/preventative actions for on-time project delivery

Specific Duties

  • Overall project schedule, manage baseline, and forecast first production and track the critical path
  • Project-wide progress measurement and reporting system, including: progress curves levels weightings and rules of credit schedules for "Facility Mechanical Completion to Systems to Handover" and contractor interfaces with Completions Management System
  • Offshore scope, including Subsea Installation Vessel Call-Down Window notifications
  • D&C planning interface, including rig schedule and permits
  • D&C / Installation Vessel SIMOPs
  • Contractor bids and provide planning input
  • Contractor schedule compliance with project coordination procedures
  • Schedule-related Change Management analysis and review MOCs (Management of Change)
  • Weekly and monthly reporting, including: analysis, and presentation of project status for internal project leader reviews
  • RADA system inputs and analysis
  • Partner reporting
  • Risk modelling with Safran Risk software: cost and schedule risk analysis models
  • Risk identification workshops
  • Model results and produce reports and variance analyses

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • 20 years of relevant industry experience
  • knowledge of offshore subsea oil & gas planning from an owner/operator perspective
  • should demonstrate a strong capability in managing complex project schedules and ensuring effective coordination among various project stakeholders.
