What are you going to do 

We are supporting our client, a leading organization in the oil and gas sector, in recruiting a skilled Heavy Lift Crane Operator to join our client's team in Dubai. This is a permanent position where you will be responsible for the safe, efficient operation and daily maintenance of heavy lift cranes, while also leading and mentoring deck crews in a demanding offshore environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Heavy Lift Crane Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the cranes, and in addition to this, manages the Roustabouts.
  • Supervises that all the activities are carried out in accordance with the Chief Officer and delivers essential on the job crew training within lifting and slinging.
  • Furthermore, the Heavy Lift Crane Operator functions as the Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) in connection with helicopter operations.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and general maintenance of the various cranes located on the vessel.
  • Responsible for safety and efficiently lifting and moving/relocating equipment, containers, pipe, systems, groceries and various materials and supplies utilized in the operations and daily functions of the vessel. This includes offloading and back-loading of personnel, equipment and supplies, etc. from water vessels as well as moving heavy or bulky materials throughout the vessel.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient work of the roustabouts as well as for the supervision and training of the roustabouts who provide the maintenance on the vessel.
  • Maintain good two-way communication with crew members.
  • Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
  • Participate in company approved and recommended training as required both on and offshore.
  • Regulatory compliance related to function.
  • Assist team in maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Operational Integrity (HSEOI) Management System.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Must have Stage III Crane Operator certificate / license.
  • Completion of training requirements for the position as per Company training matrix including General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) approved HLO-training and eVision control of work.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience offshore or equivalent industry experience.
  • Employees shall read, understand, and comply with Company's Information Security Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Employees shall promptly report any suspected or actual information security incidents to their respective line manager or the IT department.
  • Employees shall protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Company's information assets.
  • Good safety record from past operations.
  • Working knowledge of HSE practices common to the industry and the Company.
  • Familiar with application of the HSE Management System and continuous improvement.
  • Adequate computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
