What are you going to do 

The Midstream Operations team is seeking a Health & Safety (HS) Advisor to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations across pipeline, compression, storage, and measurement activities. This position provides daily field safety leadership, regulatory support, and emergency response assistance throughout midstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver field-based Health & Safety support for pipeline rights-of-way (ROWs), compressor stations, storage facilities, and measurement sites.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety programs as well as applicable federal regulations, including PHMSA 49 CFR 192/195, OSHA 1910, and EPA requirements.
  • Promote the company's Life Saving Rules through visible leadership, employee engagement, coaching, and field interaction.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, safety observations, and hazard recognition activities.
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations, monitor corrective actions, and verify effective closure of identified issues.
  • Support planning and verification of high-risk work activities, including permit-to-work processes, energy isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space entry, excavation, line breaking, atmospheric monitoring, SIMOPS, and working at heights.
  • Maintain Health & Safety performance metrics, trend analysis, and reporting for Midstream leadership.
  • Participate in risk assessments, work planning activities, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
  • Support industrial hygiene programs, including noise monitoring, atmospheric testing, heat stress evaluations, and confined space assessments.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness initiatives, drills, and response activities aligned with ICS/NIMS principles.
  • Facilitate safety training, toolbox meetings, and contractor engagement programs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around high-noise operating equipment.
  • Ability to walk extended distances, climb ladders and stairs, work at elevated locations, and enter confined spaces.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including fall protection equipment, respirators, and flame-resistant (FR) clothing.
  • Willingness to work extended schedules and participate in emergency response or on-call rotations when required.
  • Travel to multiple Midstream Operations sites will be required.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Minimum of 5 years of Safety experience within midstream, pipeline, oil & gas, or energy operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of PHMSA pipeline safety requirements and OSHA 1910 regulations.
  • Experience supporting pipeline maintenance activities, compressor station operations, or storage facility operations.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Power BI, and Health & Safety management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST, ASP, CSP, OHST, or similar professional safety certification.
  • Experience supporting integrity excavation projects (integrity digs), pigging campaigns, planned outages, or significant maintenance events.
  • ICS/NIMS training, including ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and ICS-800.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and preparing detailed investigation reports.
