Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a growing Western Australian engineering and project delivery organisation to appoint a General Manager - Engineering & Project Services.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the organisation's engineering, design and project services capability, ensuring projects are structured and delivered effectively from concept through execution.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary technical teams and drive the development of delivery frameworks that strengthen project governance, engineering quality and execution performance.

The organisation delivers Design & Construct solutions across mining processing plant upgrades, Non-Process Infrastructure and sustaining capital works across Western Australia.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead the engineering and project services function, including engineering, design and technical delivery teams
  • Establish clear delivery frameworks, governance structures and technical assurance processes
  • Ensure projects are effectively structured from early-stage planning through execution
  • Drive alignment between engineering, project controls, cost management and delivery teams
  • Build capability across engineering and technical project services functions
  • Strengthen engineering integration across processing plant and infrastructure projects
  • Support major tenders by providing technical and delivery input during bid development
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across engineering standards and project delivery practices
  • Provide senior technical leadership and client engagement across complex D&C projects

Essential skills and knowledge

You will be an experienced engineering leader with a strong background delivering engineering and project services within mining, infrastructure or heavy industrial environments.

You will likely come from an EPCM, engineering consultancy or Design & Construct contracting environment, where projects are engineered-to-order and require strong coordination across engineering, construction and commercial teams.

Key attributes include:

  • Extensive leadership experience within engineering or EPCM environments
  • Strong background in engineering, project services and project delivery governance
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams
  • Experience supporting the delivery of mining processing plant or NPI infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability
  • Ability to drive alignment across engineering, commercial and project delivery functions
