Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Gathering Execution Advisor to support field delivery of upstream gas gathering infrastructure projects. The role oversees excavation works, HDPE pipeline installation and contractor activities to ensure construction is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.

What are you going to do 

You will oversee contractor teams, excavation activities and pipeline construction works to ensure safe and efficient delivery of upstream gas infrastructure projects.

  • Supervise daily construction activities across gas gathering infrastructure projects
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with IFC drawings, specifications and construction standards
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for construction and execution issues
  • Provide standover supervision for live and high-risk excavation works
  • Review and approve excavation permits and supporting documentation
  • Act as Excavation Authorised Person (AP) ensuring excavation procedures are followed
  • Confirm identification and protection of underground and overhead assets prior to excavation
  • Inspect excavation areas, shoring and ground conditions for stability
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Coordinate contractor teams and third-party services to meet construction schedules
  • Liaise with Land Access teams to confirm landowner approvals prior to site entry
  • Review project documentation including SOW, PEP and engineering drawings
  • Support field engineers with construction and design issue resolution
  • Prepare construction progress reports when required
  • Conduct construction inspections and quality assurance sign-offs
  • Participate in MC-1, PC-1 and SC-1 walkdowns and review handover documentation
  • Maintain strong communication with contractors, engineers and project stakeholders
  • Escalate key risks, issues and project updates to construction leadership
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and safety procedures
  • Promote safe work practices and intervene when unsafe behaviours are observed

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Proven experience working with HDPE gas or water gathering systems
  • Demonstrated experience supervising excavation works around live assets
  • Experience in pipeline construction activities from clearing through to rehabilitation
  • Experience with live tie-ins, pipeline installation and commissioning activities
  • Knowledge of HDPE welding, flange management and pipeline testing processes
  • Understanding of squeeze-off, hot tap and nitrogen purging procedures
  • Experience working with LPD and HPV excavation and installation practices
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and field construction teams
  • Experience providing technical advice and troubleshooting in field construction environments
  • Strong knowledge of HSSE systems and safety management on construction projects
  • Ability to engage with internal stakeholders, contractors and external parties such as landowners
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. Certificate III Gas Supply Industry or equivalent experience) preferred
