Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Gas Supervisor for a leading petrochemical company in Qatar. The role involves supervising preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of Fire & Gas systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Fire Alarm, Gas Detection, PAGA, FM200, and VESDA systems, with supervisory experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or LNG plants.

What are you going to do 

  • Supervise preventive, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of Fire & Gas protection systems across the plant.
  • Lead maintenance teams during routine operations, shutdowns, and turnaround activities.
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis of Fire & Gas system failures.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance procedures and HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OEM vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Review work orders, maintenance records, and equipment history using SAP PM (preferred).
  • Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and company HSE procedures.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Prepare technical reports and maintenance documentation.

Technical Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on Fire & Gas Systems Maintenance experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Chemical process plants.
  • Proven supervisory experience leading Fire & Gas maintenance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, ATEX requirements, PTW systems, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Experience with SAP PM is preferred.

Only candidates with proven hands-on Fire & Gas Systems Maintenance experience in operating Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Chemical processing plants will be considered. Candidates whose experience is primarily in Telecom, ELV, CCTV, Security Systems, or Fire & Gas design, installation, or commissioning without substantial maintenance experience are not suitable for this role.

Essential skills and knowledge

We are looking for a technically competent and safety-focused Fire & Gas Supervisor with proven hands-on maintenance experience in Fire & Gas systems within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Chemical processing industry.

Candidates should have:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on Fire & Gas Systems Maintenance experience.
Supervisory experience leading maintenance teams in operating process plants.Hands-on experience with Fire Alarm, Gas Detection, Flame, Smoke & Heat Detection, PAGA, FM200, and VESDA/HSSD systems.
Experience in preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.
Experience supporting plant shutdowns and turnarounds.Knowledge of Honeywell, Emerson, NOTIFIER, Dräger, Zellweger, Allen-Bradley PLC, SAP PM, PTW, LOTO, NFPA, and ATEX standards.
Good communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Total Salary: 14970 to 16970 QAR Per Month + Benefits
