What are you going to do 

Brunel is recruiting Facilities Engineers to work in Midland, TX for initially 1 year contract.

The person in this role will evaluate and review engineering work completed internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure all work meets company specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

The role will support the effective execution of engineering and design activities, maintain communication across teams and company functions, and provide operational support for plant equipment, repairs, changes, and shutdown activities. In addition to technical capability, the candidate must have strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the area engineer for operations for a specific plant area
  • Work closely with other Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, and Lead Engineers to support the assigned operations area
  • Gain exposure to and support other plant areas as needed
  • Conduct monthly facilities surveillance based on area-driven KPIs
  • Support operations with changes, repairs, and alterations for plant pressure equipment
  • Provide engineering support for piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, and related plant systems
  • Provide shutdown engineering support
  • Review and comment on engineering work performed by internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Ensure work is executed according to company standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate discipline engineering and design routines aligned with team goals and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely communication regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues

Essential skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience, with strong preference for one of the following degrees:
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas experience required
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads, and adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
