Introduction

  • Responsible to lead all Structural engineering (analysis, specification, design basis, drawings) deliverables and designs related to the conceptual phase, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and EPCI deliverables for Offshore Jackets, Sensor Tower Platforms (STPs) and other jacket projects running thru Approved for Design (AFD), Approved for Construction (AFC) and until final As-Built dossier completions.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensures that all Project requirements, as detailed in the Scope of Work, for all structures are met including performing check and review of all Structural engineering deliverables such as Structural Design Basis, Structural specifications, in-service (in place, fatigue, pushover, boat impact and seismic) and preservice (lift, loadout, transportation, on-bottom) reports, Geophysical & Geotechnical data, metocean data, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) data, wave scatter diagram data, and loading data.
  • Provides general structural engineering technical leadership, advice, and guidance as to LNG practices and expectations. Supervise the Contractor structural team.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level competency in Structural Engineering discipline.
  • Reviews the design work of Contractors, Consultants and other third parties, request corrections and recommends changes.
  • Ensures that the design and operability are in accordance with the Client's operational philosophies.
  • Reviews the project job specifications prepared by the Contractor(s) and ensure they are in accordance with Company's Engineering Guides, Design Practices, and applicable ExxonMobil Global Practices (EMGPs).
  • Manages Contractors, Sub-contractors, vendors and sub-vendors and resolves the structural engineering concerns as required.
  • Reviews and approves structural engineering deliverables, material requisitions, and purchase orders to ensure compliance with company specifications, engineering standards, and applicable design practices.
  • Leads and coordinates structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, interface management, risk management, commissioning, and handover.
  • Determines the acceptability of structural components, engineering techniques, and construction methods, while ensuring compliance with applicable international standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports offshore installation activities, and provides engineering interface with Drilling & Completion and other disciplines as required.
  • Participate in offshore installation activities and handover inspections as required and hence, shall be willing to travel offshore for short durations.
  • Shall possess required safety certifications (T-BOSIET and H2S)

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor / subcontractors / service / vendor personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience as Structural Lead in Major Capital Offshore projects.
  • Experience working with Oil and Gas operating companies, EPC contractors, sub-contractors and engineering consultants involved in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge and application of international engineering standards, specifications and design.
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control, project gating system, project execution plan, risk management, change management, interface management, commissioning, and hand over processes/procedures.
  • Experience managing contractors and third-party vendors, in several phases of the projects, preferably done a complete project from FEED to Start-up.
  • Experience with risk assessment approach in decision making.
  • Experience working in large-scale integrated operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
  • SME level competency in at least one Engineering Discipline.
  • Experience with sour service gas and LNG facilities (for Onshore) and large Offshore Platforms / Pipelines (For Offshore).
