Introduction

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team on a long term tmporary basis in El Merk, Algeria. This is a unique opportunity to work on challenging projects that are critical to the success of our client's operations. You will provide technical leadership and contribute to the design, procurement, construction, and successful delivery of state-of-the-art facilities in alignment with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide technical leadership for input, support & approval into the design / engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, inspection & testing, installation, commissioning & start-up of the company's facilities.
  • Supporting other GB departments including Exploitation, Maintenance, HSE etc.
  • Focus on the successful execution of the projects ensuring that they are on time, within budget and in accordance with; agreed project requirements, company specifications & standards and Algerian Regulatory requirements.
  • Develop engineering and project scope of works and ensure that all related deliverables are in compliance with the applicable codes, standards, project, statutory and corporate requirements and procedures.
  • Support the coordination and alignment of discipline interfaces between the project phases and direct the contractors design efforts accordingly taking into account safety, startup, cost and constructability impacts.
  • Work within a multi-disciplined engineering team and interface with other GB departments.
  • Fully familiar with relevant design codes and standards.
  • Understanding of design review, and familiar with all types of FEED and EPC deliverables, equipment, design and construction progress reviews. Full life cycle experience is essential.

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; diplomas considered with sufficient experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical industry.
  • Able to work on a 28/28 day rotational basis in a challenging desert environment where temperatures can reach 50°C.
