Brunel is currently seeking an E&I Inspector to support one of our clients in the nuclear industry. This role is responsible for monitoring and verifying the quality of electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, approved procedures, and nuclear quality assurance programs.

The position is well suited for a quality professional with experience supporting nuclear construction, refurbishment, outage, or maintenance projects. Responsibilities include field inspections, quality surveillance, documentation reviews, and turnover verification activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and nuclear quality programs. Experience working within highly regulated environments and supporting electrical and instrumentation systems throughout installation, testing, and turnover phases is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, final, and turnover inspections for electrical and instrumentation installations on nuclear projects.
  • Verify installation of cable tray systems, conduct, power and control cabling, terminations, grounding and bonding systems, panels, junction boxes, and instrumentation devices in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Execute inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and project requirements.
  • Inspect work to confirm compliance with project specifications, quality program requirements, and applicable nuclear codes and standards.
  • Document inspection results, deficiencies, and quality records in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, specifications, and work packages.
  • Monitor compliance with approved procedures, inspection plans, quality requirements, and construction standards.
  • Verify calibration status and proper use of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE).
  • Witness and verify electrical testing, continuity testing, loop checks, instrumentation calibration, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify, document, and support the resolution of non-conformances, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and review inspection records, turnover packages, test documentation, and quality records.
  • Interface with client, engineering, construction, commissioning, and quality personnel as required.
  • Support quality audits and ensure adherence to nuclear quality assurance requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all nuclear safety, quality, regulatory, and site requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma, degree, or technical designation in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience supporting nuclear construction, refurbishment, maintenance, or major industrial projects.
  • Experience inspecting electrical and instrumentation installations, including cable tray, conduit, power and control cabling, terminations, grounding and bonding systems, panels, and field instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work packages.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance programs and applicable industry codes, standards, and client quality requirements.
  • Experience with inspection and test plans (ITPs), field quality surveillance, testing, commissioning, system turnover, and quality documentation.
  • Active Nuclear Security Clearance is required.
